December 15th was one of the busiest days we’ve had in a while for album releases. In addition to EminemBoosie Badazz and Jeezy, we heard from N.E.R.D.G-EazyKingLos, plus DJ Mustard and RJ.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, Eminem’s ninth studio and comeback album Revival, dropped with 19 star-studded tracks.

In addition to his single swith Beyonce and Skylar Grey, the album features PhresherP!nkKehlaniAlicia Keys and more.

On the album, Em says:

“I’ve been working on it for over a year. You know how it is — you make songs, and as you make the new ones, the old ones get old and you throw them out,” Eminem said. “The album is called Revival. It’s a reflection of where I’m at right now, but also I feel like what I tried to do was diversify. I’ve tried to make a little something for everyone.”

Boosie Badazz releases his April-announced double album BooPac, fully loaded with 24 tracks.

The project only includes four features from London JaeB. WillLee Banks and Yung Bleu.

On the project’s Tupac-inspired title, the Louisiana native says:

“I named it BooPac because it was a lot of pressure from my fans to name it BooPac, too. A lot of people didn’t grow up on 2Pac. He affected me in a way where he made me want to rap and tell my story. He wasn’t afraid to talk about what I went through. So 2Pac was a heavy influence on my career as far as me wanting to not fabricate my story, me wanting to really rap about what I really went through.”

Plus, he adds:

“[Another reason] why I really named it BooPac because to a generation, I was their 2Pac. What 2Pac did to me is he touched me with his music. He’s the only one that ever made me shed a tear off a song. And I have that characteristic to my fans. My fans come tell me I’m their 2Pac. Their mamas who love 2Pac come tell me that I’m the closest to 2Pac.”

The album following 2015’s When It’s Dark Out features Cardi BA$AP RockyKehlaniE-40Charlie PuthJay Ant, his girlfriend Halsey, and more.

Touching on the battle between being Gerald and G-Eazy, the rapper also explains:

“We were probably about 30 or 40 songs in and realized there were these two different themes and two different sounds. [Duality] has always been a common theme [in my work], so I figured, Why not fully go there and finish the whole concept of the album around that?”

He also adds:

“The concept of it is kinda like its about the lifestyle, the Beautiful and Damned like being a kid a having the dream of doing this starting from square one, from outside looking in from without having nothing, to chasing this dream and then all these years down the road of following this yellow brick road trying to get to where you’re going. One day waking up and being like ‘did it take me where I wanted to go?’ Is this fantasy of like sex, drugs, & rock roll is kinda cliche, but it’s cliche for a reason its dark.”
